The Rooted Collective Affiliate Agreement

Applicants must represent a genuine photography business or practice, provide accurate contact information and a portfolio, and be willing to share their experience using Rooted Sessions. There is no minimum follower count. Applications are reviewed individually, and acceptance is not guaranteed.

Application decisions and team notes remain private. We may request clarification before offering a partnership. You may contact us to withdraw your application.

You may participate as an individual photographer or a business. An LLC, corporation or business license is not a requirement. Keep actively using Rooted Sessions so your recommendations reflect your experience.

After the three-month evaluation, applicants may choose whether to become affiliates. At signing, submit one written review of your genuine experience and one platform-related marketing video. The video may show a workflow, gallery creation, a favorite feature, a video review, or another genuine use of Rooted Sessions. These are the only required promotional deliverables; no recurring content quota applies.

A positive review is never required. Share your genuine opinions, avoid unsupported claims, and do not describe features you have not used as personal experience. Do not expose private client information, account details or confidential documents in recordings.

Clearly disclose free access, commissions and any other material connection when recommending Rooted Sessions. Disclosures must be easy to notice, close to the endorsement or link, and understandable to the audience. For video, include the disclosure in the video rather than relying only on its description.

Follow applicable advertising laws, including FTC endorsement guidance where applicable, and the rules of the platforms you use. Statements such as “I’m an affiliate of Rooted Sessions and may earn a commission if you join through my link” may be used when accurate.

Your three calendar months of free Seed Studio evaluation start when you first activate access using your verified, approved photographer account—not when we approve your application. Evaluation cannot be restarted and does not create affiliate status or commissions. No payment method is required and no charge is made automatically. After evaluation, joining is optional: submit your written review and video, sign this agreement, and start a $22/month subscription. Only signed affiliates with an active membership receive all Rooted-tier benefits. The monthly price remains $22 for the lifetime of that continuous membership; this is a price lock, not free lifetime access.

Approval alone does not pause billing, cancel an existing subscription or issue a refund. Do not assume a subscription has changed until the Rooted Sessions team confirms your account benefit is active.

Your unique referral link saves your code on the visitor’s device; customers can also enter the code directly before subscribing. The first eligible code submitted to subscription checkout is linked to the new account and cannot be reassigned. Customers with an existing or previous Rooted Sessions subscription, duplicate referrals and self-referrals are not eligible. No commission is earned from photography-client payments.

Eligible new subscribers receive 25% off their first three monthly payments or 10% off their first annual payment. Subscription prices remain those offered at checkout, which may differ from calculator estimates. A free trial does not earn commission. The earning period runs for 12 months from the start of paid service after any trial, not 12 paid installments.

Commission is 30% of qualifying USD subscription payments actually received after discounts, excluding tax. Amounts are rounded to the nearest cent. The potential earnings calculator uses the published tier prices and referral discounts to illustrate first-year earnings, not guaranteed income.

Each commission is held for at least 30 days and scheduled for the next first-of-month payout run. Eligible commissions are transferred automatically to your verified Stripe payout account; Stripe’s bank processing and account requirements may add time. There is no program minimum payout. Failed transfers remain pending for retry. Refunds proportionally reduce commissions; disputed payments are withheld or reversed. Cancellation stops future subscription payments and does not create earnings for unpaid time.

You are responsible for your own taxes. Required tax paperwork, such as a W-9 where applicable, must be completed through a secure process and confirmed by the Rooted Sessions team before payouts. Stripe identity onboarding alone does not establish tax readiness. Do not put Social Security numbers, tax IDs or identity documents in your application. The company will arrange applicable reporting with its accountant; this page is not tax advice.

Each photographer affiliate will have a feature on the Rooted Sessions page highlighting their photography, a short biography and a brief interview. We will coordinate the selected photographs, biography, interview, credit and publication timing with the photographer before publishing. Application responses remain private and are not automatically published as a feature.

You retain ownership of your original content. Applying or agreeing to discuss content reuse does not transfer ownership or grant unrestricted reuse rights.

Any permission for Rooted Sessions to reuse your video, photographs, name or business identity must be confirmed in writing, including the specific content, channels, duration, editing permissions, credit and whether paid advertising is included. Obtain permission for any third-party material or people appearing in your content.

Do not send unsolicited bulk messages, make misleading price or feature claims, impersonate Rooted Sessions, manipulate referrals, or publish private client data. Any paid advertising or use of Rooted Sessions branding beyond approved program materials must be agreed in advance.

Affiliates are independent participants, not employees or agents, and cannot enter agreements or make commitments on behalf of Rooted Sessions.

You may cancel your subscription at any time through membership billing. Affiliate status, Rooted benefits, new referrals and all future commission accrual end at the end of your paid membership period—even for customers still within their 12-month referral window. Commissions cannot accrue beyond either the membership end or the referred customer’s 12-month window, whichever comes first. Either party may also end participation by contacting the other. Valid commissions already earned remain payable after the hold and compliance checks, subject to refund, dispute and fraud adjustments. Previously agreed content permissions remain governed by their separate written terms.

We may suspend promotion or referral activity while suspected misuse is reviewed. Material changes to an active partnership’s rewards or obligations must be communicated and agreed in writing, not inferred from an updated page. The accepted partnership agreement controls its specific commercial terms.

Submitting an application acknowledges the application requirements. Approved members accept this agreement separately by entering their legal name and confirming acceptance in their private affiliate dashboard; the account, acceptance time and agreement version are recorded.
